The key ingredient to a well-stocked kitchen. Having the right ingredients on hand can make a world of different while creating a stress-free cooking environment. And don't we all want that?
You may look at a recipe and be overwhelmed by all the ingredients. Don't be! Taking the time to properly stock your pantry will make your weekly grocery shopping list shorter.
Many of the ingredients on the weekly grocery shopping list you will be able to cross off because they are already in your kitchen. You will just need to restock with produce and perishables.
Having items in your pantry that have a longer shelf life is not only efficient to have it's also economical. When the grocery store has a sale on olives, pickles or pasta, I stock up!
Many of the ingredients in a recipe can be interchangeable. So don't fret if you have kalamata olives, just substitue with black olives you have on hand. As you become more confident in the kitchen, you can mix and match with what you have on hand. You will learn what flavors complement each other and your personal preferences. Did you discover that you prefer red wine vinegar to white wine vinegar, by all means go ahead and change it up!
